Product Introduction
HPC, short for hydroxypropyl cellulose, is a non-ionic cellulose polymer produced from natural cellulose (such as cotton fiber and wood pulp) through an alkaline catalytic reaction with propylene oxide. Its chemical structure uses cellulose glucose units as the backbone, with some hydroxyl groups replaced by hydroxypropyl groups (-OCH₂CH(OH)CH₃). The degree of substitution (DS) is typically between 0.2 and 1.0, and the molecular weight ranges widely (from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands), allowing for adjustment according to requirements.
