HPC (Hydroxypropyl Cellulose) is a high-efficiency additive widely used in pesticide formulations. It provides excellent suspension stability, effectively preventing sedimentation and stratification during storage. With good thixotropy, it ensures uniform spraying and improves dispersion, wetting and adhesion on crop surfaces. It is compatible with most pesticide systems and stable under acidic, alkaline and salty conditions. Suitable for suspension concentrates, water dispersible granules and seed coatings, it greatly enhances formulation stability and pesticide efficacy.
Product Introduction
HPC, short for hydroxypropyl cellulose, is a non-ionic cellulose polymer produced from natural cellulose (such as cotton fiber and wood pulp) through an alkaline catalytic reaction with propylene oxide. Its chemical structure uses cellulose glucose units as the backbone, with some hydroxyl groups replaced by hydroxypropyl groups (-OCH₂CH(OH)CH₃). The degree of substitution (DS) is typically between 0.2 and 1.0, and the molecular weight ranges widely (from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands), allowing for adjustment according to requirements.
