Product Characteristics
Ammonium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC-NH₄) is a cellulose-derived material prepared from natural cellulose via multi-step chemical modification. It appears as an odorless, tasteless fine white powder with safe biocompatibility. The powder dissolves completely in cold water to form clear, viscous aqueous solutions.
This material possesses comprehensive functional properties including thickening, adhesion, dispersing, emulsification, film formation, suspension stabilization, adsorption, gelation and surface activation. It is extensively adopted as a key raw material in the production of honeycomb ceramics, lithium batteries, supercapacitors and electronic packaging components, effectively improving the yield of qualified finished products. Its structural formula is C₆H₇O₂(OH)₂OCH₂COONH₄, with the molecular formula C₈H₁₅O₇N.
Application Scenarios

As a specialized binder material, ammonium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC-NH4) serves as a core raw material for premium SCR denitrification catalyst production. Ordinary sodium CMC contains alkali metal components that tend to degrade SCR catalysts: these metals will break the catalyst framework and destroy its active reaction points, leading to catalyst failure. Substituting conventional CMC with CMC-NH4 effectively avoids such deactivation problems. Catalysts manufactured with this ammonium-type cellulose deliver remarkably better working efficiency and longer service cycles, helping manufacturers gain stronger market advantages.
