- Bonding Coating for Abrasive Grains
As an auxiliary film-forming binder, ethyl cellulose wraps individual abrasive particles to improve the dispersibility of abrasives in slurry systems. It prevents abrasive powder from agglomerating, ensures each abrasive grain is evenly distributed on grinding wheels, abrasive belts and abrasive papers, and improves the surface uniformity of finished abrasive products.
- Protective Coating of Abrasive Surfaces
The compact film formed by ethyl cellulose can isolate abrasives from moisture, dust and corrosive substances in the air during production, transportation and storage. It effectively avoids abrasive particle oxidation and surface contamination, maintaining the original hardness and cutting performance of abrasives for a long time.
- Adjusting the Toughness and Wear Resistance of Abrasive Surface Layer
Blended with other resin binders, ethyl cellulose optimizes the brittleness of pure inorganic binders. It endows the abrasive surface with appropriate flexibility, reduces premature shedding of abrasive grits in high-speed grinding and polishing processes, elevates the service life of grinding tools and lowers processing costs.
- Controlled Volatilization & Pore-forming Auxiliary Agent
In the high-temperature curing stage of abrasive products, ethyl cellulose decomposes and volatilizes steadily at a fixed temperature, forming tiny uniform pores inside the coating layer. These pores can discharge grinding heat and grinding debris in the grinding process, effectively avoiding workpiece burning and abrasive clogging.
- Lubricating Intermediate Coating
When used as a thin intermediate coating between abrasives and the substrate, it optimizes the interface combination state, reduces internal stress inside abrasive products caused by thermal expansion and contraction, and improves the structural stability of large-size abrasive tools under high-load working conditions.
