Product Features
Ethyl cellulose (abbreviated as EC) is a non‑ionic cellulose derivative produced by reacting natural cellulose with ethyl chloride under alkaline conditions. It is a thermoplastic, tasteless, odorless and non-toxic polymer substance. It cannot dissolve in water yet dissolves readily in multiple conventional organic alcohol-based mixed solvents, making it suitable for preparing solvent-based coating solutions.
Bonding Coating for Abrasive Grains
As an auxiliary film-forming binder, ethyl cellulose wraps individual abrasive particles to improve the dispersibility of abrasives in slurry systems. It prevents abrasive powder from agglomerating, ensures each abrasive grain is evenly distributed on grinding wheels, abrasive belts and abrasive papers, and improves the surface uniformity of finished abrasive products.
