Ammonium Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC-NH₄) is a specialized cellulose derivative designed for advanced ceramic processing, particularly honeycomb ceramic extrusion and SCR denitration catalyst production. Manufactured through the controlled chemical modification of purified cellulose, it is supplied in the form of a white to slightly yellow powder with no noticeable odor or taste.
CMC-NH₄ disperses and dissolves readily in cold water, forming a homogeneous, transparent, and viscous solution. Its excellent binding, thickening, dispersion, suspension, film-forming, and water-retention capabilities make it a suitable processing additive for extrusion-based ceramic manufacturing.
With ammonium as its counter-ion, CMC-NH₄ helps minimize the introduction of undesirable alkali-metal residues during thermal processing. It is therefore a suitable alternative to conventional sodium-based carboxymethyl cellulose in applications requiring low ash content and precise control of catalyst composition.
Molecular Formula: C₈H₁₅O₇N
CMC-NH₄ combines binding efficiency, rheological control, and low inorganic residue to support stable ceramic manufacturing processes.
High Binding Efficiency: Enhances the cohesion and mechanical strength of ceramic green bod
