Construction-grade CMC is widely used in interior and exterior wall putty, tile adhesive, various dry powder mortars, waterproof coatings, and gypsum products. CMC core functions include water retention, thickening, bonding, and crack resistance, delaying water loss and cracking of the mortar, optimizing the application feel, and improving the strength and adhesion of the finished product. CMC is compatible with various civil engineering and home decoration building material formulations, offering excellent cost-effectiveness.
I. Commonly Used Models (by Viscosity)
1) Interior wall putty (mainstream)
- CMC-M6 / IM6: 400–800 mPa・s, general-purpose, good water retention, smooth application, addition amount 5–8 kg/ton.
- CMC-HL8: 500–600 mPa・s, neutral, fine texture, not easy to peel, preferred for interior walls.
- CMC-M3: 200–400 mPa・s, low cost, suitable for low-end interior walls, dosage 8–10 kg/ton.
2) Exterior Wall Putty (Crack Resistance Priority)
- CMC-H10 / IH6 / HL9: 800–1200 mPa・s, high viscosity and strong water retention, crack resistance, good weather resistance, addition amount 4–6 kg/ton.
- T8 (Paint Grade): 800–2000 mPa・s, high-end exterior wall/elastic putty, stable system, waterproof.
II. Model Selection Recommendations
- Standard Interior Walls: M6 (400–800), best value for money.
- High-end Interior Walls/Furnishings: HL8 (500–600, neutral), good feel, durable.
- Exterior Walls/Crack-resistant Putty: H10/HL9 (800–1200), strong water retention and crack resistance.
- Low-cost Projects: M3 (200–400), slightly larger usage.
