Ammonium Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC-NH4), through its three core functions of low-impurity bonding, rheological regulation, and clean thermal decomposition, has become an indispensable key material in the preparation of SCR honeycomb ceramic catalysts for automotive exhaust. It directly affects the molding quality, activity stability, and service life of the catalyst, and is an important guarantee for meeting stringent environmental protection standards.
Core Application: Honeycomb Catalyst Green Body Preparation
- Binder and Plasticizer: Acting as a binder during the mixing stage, it imparts good plasticity and viscosity to the ceramic clay, improving the strength of the green body, reducing cracking and deformation during extrusion and drying, and ensuring the regularity of the honeycomb channels.
- Water Retention and Rheological Control: Controlling the moisture release rate of the clay optimizes extrusion flowability, ensuring uniform channels, thin walls (commonly 0.15-0.3 mm), and high cross-sectional precision.
- Low Impurity Residue: After high-temperature calcination (500-600℃), it decomposes into CO₂, NH₃, and water vapor, leaving no alkali metal residue. This avoids poisoning of the active components of the SCR catalyst (such as V₂O₅-WO₃/TiO₂) and extends the catalyst life.
