HEC - Introduction

Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (HEC) is a non-ionic water-soluble cellulose , modified from natural cellulose through alkalization and. It combines the compatibility of natural polymers with the excellent performance of synthetic polymers, and is easily soluble in cold and hot water to form a transparent viscous solution. It features outstanding film-forming, thickening, suspending and rheology control properties, as well as good chemical stability, and has excellent compatibility with various inorganic and organic additives. It is a core functional additive in the fields of denitration plate catalysts, construction materials, coatings and inks.

In the production and application of denitration plate catalysts, HEC acts as a key bonding and forming additive. It can effectively improve the dispersion uniformity of the slurry and the viscosity of the system, endow the slurry with excellent thixotropy and adjustable rheology, and ensure the molding precision and shape retention of the catalyst. After film-forming, it can enhance the interface bonding force of the catalyst substrate, improve the temperature resistance stability, anti-pulverization performance and flue gas corrosion resistance of the products, and avoid cracking during the drying process. It can also assist in regulating the pore structure of the catalyst, adapt to the harsh working conditions of the denitration process, and help the catalyst maintain stable denitration efficiency and service life.

Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (HEC) Applications

With core properties such as excellent water solubility, superior film-forming ability, controllable rheology, strong bonding strength and good chemical stability, HEC serves as a key functional additive across multiple industries. Its core application fields and scenarios are as follows:

1. Environmental Denitration (Core Adaptation: Denitration Plate Catalysts):

    As a bonding and forming additive in catalyst production, it improves the dispersion uniformity and system stability of slurry, endows excellent thixotropy and shape retention; enhances the interfacial bonding force of substrates, assists in regulating catalyst pore size, improves the temperature resistance, anti-pulverization and flue gas corrosion resistance of products with no cracking during drying, adapting to the harsh denitration working conditions in thermal power, iron and steel, chemical industry and other industries.
