CMC for putty is an anionic, water-soluble cellulose, a white fibrous powder, soluble in cold water, and a core functional additive for interior wall dry powder putty.
Core Functions:Water retention, thickening and lubrication, suspension stabilization, and improved adhesion.
After the putty is mixed with water, CMC dissolves to form a colloidal network, locking in the moisture of the slurry and preventing rapid water absorption and loss by the wall. This ensures full hydration of lime and fillers, effectively reducing putty peeling, powdering, shrinkage, and cracking. It enhances the lubrication and thixotropic properties of the slurry, making application smooth and non-grinding, preventing sagging on walls, and providing excellent finishing and sanding performance. Simultaneously, it suspends heavy calcium carbonate and lime powder, preventing stratification and sedimentation, resulting in a uniform and stable system.
Compatible with ordinary interior wall putty 821 and lime-based putty, it can be compounded with HPMC to optimize overall formulation costs.

- M3 Low Tack (200-400cps): Inexpensive interior wall putty for engineering projects, dosage 8-10kg/ton of putty
- M6 Medium Tack (400-800cps): Mainstream interior wall putty for home decoration, dosage 5-8kg/ton of putty
- H10 High Tack (800-1200cps): Exterior walls/high water retention requirements; CMC water resistance is average, not recommended for areas that are frequently submerged in water.
Construction-grade CMC is widely used in interior and exterior wall putty, tile adhesive, various dry powder mortars, waterproof coatings, and gypsum products. CMC core functions include water retention, thickening, bonding, and crack resistance, delaying water loss and cracking of the mortar, optimizing the application feel, and improving the strength and adhesion of the finished product.
