Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC) is a water‑soluble anionic cellulose derived from natural cellulose. It appears as white fibrous powder, soluble in cold and hot water to form viscous colloids. This construction‑grade CMC is widely used as a functional additive for interior wall putty.
It delivers excellent water retention, locking moisture in slurry to avoid rapid dehydration, cracking and chalk‑off. It also provides thickening, lubrication and suspension performance for better troweling workability, anti‑sagging and easy sanding. It improves putty adhesion and stabilizes the system to prevent filler settlement.
We supply multiple viscosity grades: low viscosity for low‑cost engineering putty, medium viscosity for premium interior putty, and high viscosity for higher water retention demand. It can be compounded with HPMC to optimize formula cost. Free samples, TDS and COA are available for customer testing.
Construction-grade CMC is widely used in interior and exterior wall putty, tile adhesive, various dry powder mortars, waterproof coatings, and gypsum products. CMC core functions include water retention, thickening, bonding, and crack resistance, delaying water loss and cracking of the mortar, optimizing the application feel, and improving the strength and adhesion of the finished product. CMC is compatible with various civil engineering and home decoration building material formulations, offering excellent cost-effectiveness.
