Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose (HPMC) is a high-performance non-ionic cellulose produced from natural refined cotton through advanced chemical modification. With excellent water retention, rheology control, thickening efficiency, and workability improvement, HPMC is widely used as a functional additive in modern construction materials, including self-leveling compounds, tile adhesives, cement-based mortars, gypsum products, and wall putties.
For self-leveling compound applications, specially optimized low-viscosity HPMC grades provide the ideal balance between flowability and water retention. They help maintain smooth spreading performance while preventing common construction issues such as water bleeding, material segregation, surface pinholes, shrinkage, and cracking.
By improving slurry stability, adhesion, and surface finish, HPMC plays an important role in achieving high-quality, durable, and easy-to-apply self-leveling flooring systems.
HPMC effectively reduces rapid moisture evaporation and ensures sufficient hydration of cementitious materials, improving final strength and durability.
Optimized rheological properties allow self-leveling materials to spread smoothly while maintaining proper viscosity and stability.
HPMC improves suspension stability, preventing aggregate settlement and uneven distribution of components during application.
Enhances mixing efficiency, pumping performance, spreading ability, and overall construction convenience.
Provides longer working time, allowing installers to adjust and finish the surface properly.
Improves bonding between the leveling compound and substrate, contributing to stronger flooring systems.
Controls moisture migration and improves internal structure, helping reduce shrinkage cracks and surface imperfections.
Maintains consistent performance under varying temperature and humidity conditions.

HPMC creates a protective colloidal structure within cement-based formulations, slowing down water loss and ensuring sufficient hydration of cement particles. This contributes to improved mechanical strength, surface hardness, and long-term durability.
The specially designed rheological properties of low-viscosity HPMC allow self-leveling compounds to maintain excellent fluidity while preventing excessive settling. This results in smoother surfaces and better leveling efficiency.
HPMC controls particle movement inside the slurry system, reducing bleeding and segregation while maintaining uniform distribution of raw materials.
By improving water distribution and internal structure, HPMC minimizes moisture-related defects and helps achieve a more stable cured surface.
