Hypromellose releases drugs in a controlled manner, effectively extending the duration of drug release and thereby prolonging its therapeutic effect. Hypromellose (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) has been used in extended-release drug products for many years. When used in matrix tablets, these polymers hydrate upon contact with water, creating a viscous gel barrier within and around the tablet.
Properties of hypromellose that influence drug release rate include the rate of water diffusion into the dry polymer, the rate of hydration and gel formation of the hypromellose, the viscosity of the hydrated hypromellose, and the rate of erosion of the hypromellose gel.
Binder for Honeycomb Ceramic Substrates - Water-soluble support for extrusion; leaves no residue after sintering (decomposes to CO+HO), ideal for automotive exhaust purification carriers.
Dairy/Sauce Thickening (Food-Grade HPMC) - Improves texture; acts as a gelatin alternative in vegan products.

Shanghai Prior Chemical Scientific And Technical Co.LTD. (Grade A Tax Credit) was established in 2016. Leveraging China North Industries Group Corporation (NORINCO GROUP) resources, the company trades military-industrial materials including hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC), hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC), sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), ethyl cellulose (EC), and nitrocellulose (NC).
The company independently manufactures integrated nail-fastening products and holds equity in ammonium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC-NH4) production and marketing. It holds nearly 70% domestic market share in HPMC for automotive exhaust honeycomb ceramics.
